JABALPUR: A 43-year-old Military officer, posted because the commanding officer of 1-Technical Coaching Regiment (TTR) at 1-Indicators Coaching centre (STC) in Jabalpur, died by suicide on the officers’ mess late Sunday evening.
Police recognized the officer as Colonel Nishit Khanna, a local of Lucknow. He left behind a five-page notice in his room, with ‘sorry’ written again and again. Police suspect household points triggered the suicide.
“Colonel Khanna hanged himself inside his room within the officers’ mess of I-STC round 10.30pm. He was staying within the mess since October 25,” Jabalpur metropolis SP Priyanka Shukla informed TOI.
The 1 TTR commanding officer was allotted a bungalow at Adhikari Enclave in Jabalpur however was dwelling within the mess for the previous couple of months owing to some private causes.
“A senior officer tried calling him repeatedly yesterday. When he didn’t reply, officers dwelling within the adjoining rooms have been requested to verify on him. Once they peered into the room by a window, they noticed him hanging. They broke down the door and tried to resuscitate him. He was instantly taken to the army hospital the place he was declared lifeless. Then, the native police station was knowledgeable,” the CSP mentioned.
Shukla mentioned that the precise motive behind the suicide can’t be revealed because it was it too private. Colonel Khanna is survived by his spouse and two kids, a 15-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son. Police have registered a case for additional investigation.
Every week in the past, 29-year-old captain Sartaj Singh Karla was discovered hanging on the Military Instructional Corps Coaching School and Centre (AECTCC) in Pachmarhi.
